EA Access May Finally Be Coming to PS4 This Year

It seems EA Access - EA’s video game subscription service - may finally be making it’s way to PlayStation 4, with the publisher teasing during their recent earnings call that it plans to “offer a subscription service on another major platform” at some point this year.

No other information was given relating to which subscription service may be coming to which major platform, though it’s safe to assume EA Access and PlayStation 4 are the subjects in question - something widely requested on PlayStation since the services’ launch exclusively on Xbox One back in 2014.

Sony originally denied EA Access on PlayStation 4, with a representative at the time saying EA Access would not offer “good value to the PlayStation gamer”. However times have changed and the company seems to have become more lenient to fan demands, with Sony last year finally allowing cross-platform play with Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

With a new Need for Speed game confirmed for 2019, alongside Anthem, a new Plants vs Zombies game, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment and various EA Sports titles, EA Access would give PlayStation 4 owners the opportunity to play 10 hour trials for these upcoming titles several days before launch - in addition to the dozens of titles available to download in The Vault including Need for Speed Payback and Battlefield 1.

EA Access would be perfect for PlayStation 4, and something we surprisingly didn’t think would take this long to make its way over, so fingers crossed this means Need for Speed fans on PlayStation 4 will have the chance to play NFS 2019 just as earlier as PC and Xbox One this year!
