Rumor: Watch Dogs 3 Releasing in 2019, Will Be Set in London
Watch Dogs 3 rumours are starting to kick up again, with a new report suggesting that the next entry in the series will officially release later this year and will be set in the long-rumoured locale of London.
The rumour started to circulate from a 4chan post which leaked the next Assassin’s Creed title, codenamed Legion and set to be released in 2020 for current and next generation consoles.
In the post the alleged leaker makes mention of Watch Dogs 3, suggesting the title will launch in 2019 (filling the void of no new Assassin’s Creed) and will be set in London.
Watch Dogs 3 will feature a new protagonist, however will be a customizable Male or Female character (similar to Far Cry 5). The leak also suggests that the combat will focus more on smaller firearms and knives, with a larger emphasis on hacking.
Kotaku Editor Jason Scherier, who is known for breaking stories on unannounced games, has seemingly confirmed the Watch Dogs 3 related rumours, with a tweet response suggesting the game will infact take place in the United Kingdom.
While nothing is official at this stage, Jason Scherier does have a very credible history of game leaks, with close sources inside the game industry providing him information.
Ubisoft have been strongly that the next Watch Dogs game will be set in London for awhile now, with Watch Dogs 2’s updated ending cutscene featuring coordinates that point directly to London. There were teasers last month in regards to Watch Dogs 3’s protagonist and a new hacktivist group.
