Grand Theft Auto 6 Reportedly in Full Development
It's been almost four years since the gaming juggernaut known as Grand Theft Auto V released, with millions still playing and updates for the games online portion, Grand Theft Auto Online, still constantly coming in the form of either mini-expansions, new game modes or new exotic super cars.
Many have speculated for years when we might see a new Grand Theft Auto title built from the ground-up for current gen consoles, but with Grand Theft Auto V continuing to sell and Rockstar's newest title Red Dead Redemption 2 launching Spring 2018, it seems like it may be a ways off until we see such a thing.
However, if a motion capture actor's resume is to be believed, Grand Theft Auto 6 not only may be in development, but further along than we may have thought.
Discovered on NeoGAF by user chadskin, the motion capture actor Tim Neff has listed both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6 on his resume. If motion capture work is already underway, we can speculate that most pre-production work has been completed, as motion capture work usually occurs once most of a games groundwork has been established. Considering Neff is connected with both projects however, its possible the motion capture he might be doing could be for basic character animations.
The news isn't typically surprising or out of the realm of possibility, as most work on the next Grand Theft Auto title begins not long after the release of the latest one, and both Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises are made by different Rockstar studios.
Are you excited for a potential Grand Theft Auto 6? With Red Dead Redemption 2 coming in the next year, don't expect to hear much on Grand Theft Auto 6 for a while as the bigger push will be on Red Dead, but let us know where you'd like to see the game set and what new content you expect it to have.
